Training of National Trainers to Provide Care Services for Elderly Held
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection, in
collaboration with the Asian Development Bank, has organized a training program
to prepare national trainers in the provision of care services for elderly. The training was conducted under the technical assistance project (TA
MON-10388) aimed at strengthening the capacity of care services for the
elderly.
The trained national trainers will be responsible for
delivering knowledge and guidance on long-term care (LTC) systems for older
persons, including policies, financing, and core components. They will also
focus on risk identification and assessment, conducting comprehensive needs
assessments, and providing integrated care services tailored to different
levels of risk. In addition, they will work to ensure the implementation of
relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Participants who successfully complete the training will go
on to replicate the program at the local level, with the goal of improving the
quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of services for older persons, as
well as strengthening coordination and collaboration among professionals in
related sectors.
A total of 60 representatives participated in the training,
including officials and experts from the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social
Protection, the General Office for Labour and Welfare Services, the Mongolian
Association of Elderly People, the National Gerontology Centre, the Ministry of
Health, the United Association of Soum Health Centres, the Mongolian Red Cross
Society, and district-level social welfare units.
