Child-Friendly Interview Rooms Established at Three Locations for
Child Victims and Witnesses
Within the framework of the “Child Protection Compact Partnership:
Protecting Children from Trafficking” project between the Governments of the
United States and Mongolia, three fully equipped “Child-Friendly Rooms” have
been established for taking statements from child victims and witnesses of
crime. The facilities were officially handed over and inaugurated on February
24, 2026.
The child-friendly rooms have been set up at the following locations:

Chingeltei District Division for Child, Family
Development and Protection;
·
Temporary shelter under the 108 Emergency Child
Protection and Response Centre;
·
Temporary shelter under the Bayanzurkh District
Division for Child, Family Development and Protection.
The opening ceremony
was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social
Protection, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the General Authority for
Child and Family Development and Protection, the Preventive Services Division
of the National Police Agency, the Embassy of the United States, the National
Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, the General Authority for Education, the
108 Child Emergency Response and Protection Centre, as well as relevant
district-level police, prosecutor’s offices, and child and family development
and protection departments from Bayanzurkh and Chingeltei districts.
Representatives from international organizations, including World Vision
Mongolia and The Asia Foundation, also participated.
Participants shared
recommendations on further improving the use of the facilities, ensuring the
sustainability of child-friendly environments, and strengthening intersectoral
cooperation.
Since 2020, the
Government of Mongolia, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State under
the Child Protection Compact Partnership, has been implementing the “Protecting
Children from Trafficking” project in collaboration with The Asia Foundation
and World Vision Mongolia.
