Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia and United Nations Development Programme Discuss Expanding Cooperation to Promote Employment
The Minister of Family, Labour and Social
Protection, T. Aubakir, met with the UNDP
Resident Representative in Mongolia, Matilda
Dimovska, to discussed on ongoing and future cooperation aimed at
promoting employment and ensuring sustainable jobs for vulnerable groups.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the progress
and outcomes of the “Apprenticeship-to-Employment Transition” programme, which
is designed to support vulnerable citizens in securing long-term employment.
They also discussed opportunities to further expand and strengthen the
initiative.
Both sides emphasized the importance of deepening
collaboration in the areas of social protection, employment, human development,
and capacity building. They highlighted the need to jointly implement policy
and legal reforms, as well as innovative solutions, to support sustainable and
inclusive development during the 2024–2028 period.
The discussion also covered potential joint
projects and programmes to scale up employment promotion services nationwide,
expand targeted programmes for vulnerable groups, conduct labour market
research, introduce digital solutions, and strengthen local-level capacities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties
agreed to focus on expanding skills development training aligned with labour
market demand, as well as apprenticeship and workplace-based training
programmes to reduce unemployment. Particular attention will be given to youth,
women, persons with disabilities, and the long-term unemployed.
