Training Held for Members and Experts of the Child and Family Social Work Ethics Committee
A training program for members and experts of the National
Social Worker Ethics Committee was held today for the first time, jointly
organized by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection and
representatives of professional associations.
Under the revised Law on Child Protection, child and family
social workers are required to follow a code of ethics. In accordance with the
law, the code was approved in 2024 in consultation with professional social
work associations.
To ensure the implementation of this code, monitor
compliance, and promote awareness, a 15-member National Ethics Committee was
established this year. The committee includes representatives of social workers
from the health, justice, education, social welfare, and child protection
sectors.
The training focused on introducing professional social work
ethical standards, principles, and norms at the sectoral level; enhancing
ethical awareness among officials; preventing ethical errors, shortcomings, and
violations; providing guidance in professional decision-making; ensuring
transparency and accountability; and developing skills to analyse ethical
breaches and submit conclusions to relevant institutions and management.
Looking ahead, there are plans to establish child and family
social work ethics subcommittees in all 21 provinces and 9 districts
nationwide.
