Implementing a Program to Support Target Groups through Mentorship and Sustainable Employment under the Welfare-to-Work Policy
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection is
working in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to
implement the national Welfare-to-Work policy.
As part of employment promotion measures, the “Transition to
Employment through Mentorship” program has been launched. Within this
framework, a training and discussion session was organized to explore effective
approaches for implementing a Multi-Stakeholder Platform aimed at reaching and
supporting target groups.
The target groups to be placed in sustainable jobs through
mentorship include members of households in need of social welfare support,
individuals released from detention, homeless people, individuals with alcohol
or substance addiction, and those who had not previously engaged in formal
employment due to caregiving responsibilities or compulsory unpaid work.
Today’s training and discussion aimed to exchange views on
identifying optimal models and solutions for effectively reaching target groups
and establishing a participatory platform involving relevant stakeholders.
Participants include the project team, representatives from the Ministry of
Family, Labour and Social Protection, the General Authority for Employment
Services, district-level social welfare service departments, the General
Executive Agency of Court Decisions, the Police Authority, researchers,
contracted NGOs providing community-based social welfare services, and
representatives of civil society organizations.
