Revision of the Trade Union Law and Regulations
A discussion on the
revision of the Trade Unions’ Rights Law was held on
International Human Rights Day, supported by technical assistance from the
International Labour Organization (ILO).
Trade unions are
organizations that protect the rights and interests of workers. As part of the
effort to improve labor relations, the law governing the rights of trade unions
will be revised.
The revision will include
making the statistics on the number of collective agreements and negotiations
between trade unions and government institutions more accurate, as well as the
number of workers benefiting from these agreements.
The bills on Employment
Services, Social Welfare, and amendments to the Social Insurance Law are set to
be presented during the autumn session of the State Great Khural (Parliament)
in 2024.
The revision of the Trade
Unions’ Rights Law is expected to be completed and submitted
for consideration during the spring session of the State Great Khural in 2025.
The discussion was
attended by over 40 representatives from the State Great Khural, relevant
ministries, the National Human Rights Commission, the Confederation of
Mongolian Trade Unions, the Mongolian Employers’
Federation, the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the
Mongolian Teachers’ Trade Union.
