Opening of the National Network of Job Centers
The Government of Mongolia
has set a goal to increase employment through a national platform for labour
exchanges and social services, in line with international standards. This
initiative is part of the Government’s 2024-2028 Action Plan and
aims to promote
public-private partnerships in employment.
As part of this
initiative, the first four Job Center locations were opened in Ulaanbaatar.
These centers will cater to various groups, including stay-at-home mothers and
people with disabilities, each offering services tailored to their specific
needs. However, the centers are open to all individuals seeking employment.
The Job Centers are
located in the Khan-Uul, Bayangol, and Sukhbaatar districts of the capital.
Services provided at these centers include skill assessments, career
counseling, job placement assistance, labor market information, and information
about relevant laws and regulations—all accessible in one place.
Currently, the labor
market faces challenges such as labor shortages, persistent unemployment, and
poverty, as well as a mismatch between the education system and the demand for
skilled labor. The Government plans to address these issues by implementing
policies focused on employment services, strengthening public-private
partnerships, and updating the legal framework to improve the quality and
accessibility of employment policies.
In the future, a total of
19 Job Centers will be opened nationwide.
