Training on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
Mongolia has been a member
of the United Nations Convention
on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) since 2009. The
CRPD aims to ensure that individuals with disabilities enjoy the same rights as
others, encompassing access to education, employment, government services, and development opportunities, all
underpinned by principles of equality and protection.
In November 2024, a significant training
session on the CRPD, themed “Making
Rights a Reality”, took place in Seoul, South Korea. The goal of the session was to enhance
understanding of the CRPD and its implementation. Seven representatives from
Mongolia participated in the event, including members from:
•
Ministry of Family, Labour and Social
Protection
•
Ministry of Urban Development and
Housing
•
General Agency for the Development of Persons
with Disabilities
•
Various NGOs
Key

both Mongolia and Malaysia shared valuable insights
and exchanged experiences on government
policies, actions, and the overall implementation of the CRPD.

Mongolia’s ongoing efforts to improve its
approach to disability rights.

enhance its implementation of the UN Convention and
move closer to ensuring equal opportunities and rights for individuals with
disabilities in the country.
