Evaluation of the Implementation of the Child Protection Partnership Compact Agreement
A discussion was held to
evaluate the implementation of the Child Protection Partnership Compact
Agreement between Mongolia and the United States. The event was
organized by the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, the Ministry
for Family, Labour, and Social Protection, and the U.S. Embassy in
Mongolia.
Key Outcomes of the
Agreement
•
Addressing Human Trafficking and Child Labor Exploitation:
The agreement, which has
been in effect since 2020, has focused on significant efforts to combat human
trafficking and the exploitation of child labor. These initiatives have included
collaboration with victims of such crimes and capacity-building for both government and non-governmental
organizations.
•
Shelter and Rehabilitation Services:
A temporary
shelter for victims, particularly women and children, has been
established. The shelter has already supported 59 clients. In
addition, a long-term protection and rehabilitation center for child
victims of sexual exploitation was created under the Child and
Family Development Authority, providing essential services to six
children currently receiving care.
•
Amendments to the Child Protection Law:
The Child
Protection Law was amended, resulting in key improvements in the legal
process for child victims. Notable changes include the establishment of child-friendly
interview rooms, helping to improve the legal proceedings and ensure that
children’s rights are respected.
The parties involved in
the agreement have agreed that the implementation of the Child
Protection Partnership Compact Agreement has been successful. The
collaborative efforts will continue to be expanded in order to enhance child
protection and support for victims of exploitation.
