Mongolia Allocates 24 Billion MNT in State Budget for Establishing a Support Center for Children with Severe Disabilities
The Rehabilitation
and Development Center for Children with Disabilities, established
with non-repayable assistance from the Chinese government, is
celebrating its 5th anniversary. Over the past five years, the
center has provided comprehensive specialized services in health,
education, and social rehabilitation to 42,000 children with
disabilities from across Mongolia. These services include:

Social protection and psychological counseling
•
Prosthetics and assistive devices
•
Health rehabilitation
The anniversary event was
attended by Minister for Family, Labour and Social Protection L.
Enkh-Amgalan, Ambassador Shen Minjuan of the People’s Republic of
China, UN Resident Coordinator Mr. Tapan Mishra, and other key
officials.
New Initiatives for 2025:
The Government of Mongolia
has allocated 24 billion MNT in the state budget to establish
a Support Center for Children with Severe Disabilities. This center
will provide comprehensive caregiving, health, and education services tailored
to the needs of children with severe disabilities.
Additionally, the
government will:

Increase pensions for families, parents, and guardians of children
with severe disabilities by 36%.
•
Cover diaper expenses up to 500,000 MNT for
families.
Minister L. Enkh-Amgalan
highlighted that the operation of the new support centers will be conducted in
collaboration with non-governmental organizations, ensuring
efficient and inclusive service delivery.
These efforts underscore
the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for children with
disabilities and supporting their families through enhanced social
protection measures.
