3,000 Mongolian Citizens Working in Kazakhstan Can Now Establish Pensions in Mongolia
During the state visit of
the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich
Tokayev, to Mongolia at the invitation of President U. Khurelsukh,
several bilateral agreements were signed to enhance relations and cooperation
between the two nations.
A notable highlight of the
visit was the signing of an agreement on pension cooperation between
the Governments of Mongolia and Kazakhstan by L. Enkh-Amgalan,
Minister for Family, Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia, and Roman
Vasilievich Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of
Kazakhstan.
Under this agreement, both
countries will:
•
Recognize the work periods of their citizens in each other’s countries when determining pension entitlements in accordance
with their respective national laws.
•
Implement a mutual pension transfer system, ensuring that citizens
can access the benefits of their pension contributions regardless of the
country they worked in.
This agreement is
especially significant for the more than 3,000 Mongolian citizens currently
working in Kazakhstan. These individuals will now be able to receive pension
benefits based on their contributions in Kazakhstan, enhancing their social
security and ensuring financial stability in retirement.
The agreement will take
effect once it is ratified by the parliaments of both nations.
This milestone strengthens social protection ties between Mongolia and
Kazakhstan and demonstrates their commitment to improving the well-being of
their citizens abroad.
