Family-Based Development Policy to Be Implemented
Working groups have been established to evaluate, provide conclusions, and make recommendations regarding policies in the family, labor, and social protection sectors. Today, on September 4, 2024, L. Enkh-Amgalan, Minister for Family, Labour, and Social Protection, met with members of the family sector policy analysis working group.
Recognizing that the family is the fundamental unit of society, the group discussed the current state of Mongolia's households, which totaled 983,500 in 2023. The Government of Mongolia's 2024-2028 action plan includes initiatives aimed at promoting family-based development and strengthening social protection measures.
Members of the working group emphasized the need to update the state's family policy and legal framework, as well as to revise the content and structure of family support services.
Looking forward, the ministry plans to focus on empowering human resources within the sector, providing family education starting in adolescence, promoting healthy and stable relationships, and offering psychological counseling in various forms—both in-person and online.
The creation of healthy and stable families is a multi-sectoral issue involving health, education, social security, and law. As such, the ministries have been directed to ensure close coordination across these sectors to effectively address the challenges.
