Second Asia-Pacific Voluntary Survey to review the Implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging

The second Asia-Pacific Voluntary Survey to review the implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging is being held between September and November 2021, and the second working group meeting has been held.

The Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging was adopted at the Second World Aging Conference in 2002 and is a guide to global population aging.

The document consists of three main priorities: “Older persons and development”, “Advancing health and wellbeing into old age”, and “Ensuring enabling and supportive environments”.

This operation is organized for the preparation of the upcoming fourth global monitoring and evaluation of the plan implementation in 2023 at the 61st session of the UN General Assembly's Commission on Social Development.

It covers 8 issues in the field of aging and development, 6 issues in the field of health and well-being, and collected answers from more than 20 organizations in response to more than 50 questions.

The report will be submitted to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
