Member of Parliament T. Aubakir Reappointed as Minister of Family, Labour, and Social Protection
Member of Parliament T. Aubakir has been reappointed to
continue his role as the Minister of Family, Labour, and Social Protection in
the newly formed cabinet of Mongolia's 35th Prime Minister, N. Uchral.
The appointment was formally presented during the plenary
session of the Parliament on April 3, 2026, where he officially took his oath
of office as a Cabinet member.
Following the parliamentary session, First Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Economy and Development J. Enkhbayar, accompanied by
relevant officials, visited the ministry to read and present the Prime
Minister's decree, marking Minister T. Aubakir's official assumption of duties.
Over his previous nine months in office, Minister T.Aubakir laid a strong foundation for legal reforms within the sector and accomplished several significant milestones. Notable achievements include:
- Mongolia had established social protection agreements with six countries since 1981. Within nine months, Minister T.Aubakir successfully added two more. The "Social Protection Agreements" with Austria and Kazakhstan were successfully ratified by Parliament, creating a vital legal framework to protect the social rights of Mongolian citizens working in those nations.
- He spearheaded the drafting of seven new sectoral bills. Two of these have already received Cabinet backing, including the draft law on "Private Supplementary Pensions," which has been submitted to Parliament and will serve as the cornerstone of a multi-tiered pension system.
Looking
ahead, Minister T.Aubakir emphasized his ongoing commitment to refining the
legal landscape to support population policy, boost employment, and enhance
social protection all crucial elements for Mongolia's foundational development.
He stated that his primary goal is to deliver tangible results for the sectoral
initiatives outlined in the Government's action plan.
