Enhancing Occupational Safety and Health: Comprehensive Reforms Planned
Mr.
L. Enkh-Amgalan, Minister for Family, Labour and Social Protection, recently
held a meeting with members of the Governing Board of the Confederation of
Mongolian Trade Unions to address critical issues in occupational safety and
health.
Key
topics included the need to improve the wage system, updating policies,
monitori artificial price increases, and ensure effective implementation of the
Occupational Safety and Health Law across all sectors.
As
part of ongoing efforts, a meeting of the Tripartite National Committee for
Labour and Social Partnership is scheduled to take place soon. This meeting will
be focused on discussing and approving the planned laws and regulations for
2025.
The
discussions also emphasized organizing a nationwide inspection to assess the
enforcement of labor laws, particularly the Occupational Safety and Health Law.
Measures
are being developed to enhance preventive services, strengthen post-accident
recovery services processes, and improve the insurance system in the
occupational safety and health sector.
The
revised draft of the Occupational Safety and Health Law, incorporating
suggestions from the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions, will be presented
during the spring session of the State Great Khural (Parliament of Mongolia) in
2025. The proposed reforms aim to create a more developed and effective system,
ensuring the safety and well-being of workers across the country.
