Discussion on Comprehensive Assistance and Services for the Elderly
The World Health
Organization’s (WHO) Regional Office for the Western Pacific has
developed the Healthy Aging 2021-2030 plan and
recommended its implementation by member countries. In response, Mongolia is
working on the development and approval of a national plan to support healthy
aging.
As part of this
initiative, Mikiko Kanda, the lead of the WHO Western Pacific Region’s Healthy Aging program, and April Sivon, a specialist in the
program, have been providing technical advice to Mongolia in the development of
its healthy aging action plan.
They were received by
officials from the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection for a
meeting.
During the meeting,
discussions centered on developing a medium-term plan within the WHO-approved
Healthy Aging framework, providing comprehensive assistance and services to the
elderly, and improving inter-sectoral coordination.
