Using Big Data to Enhance Workforce Studies
On October 7,
2024, Mr. L. Enkh-Amgalan, Member of
Parliament and Minister for Family, Labour and Social Protection met with Mr.
T. Duuren, Executive Director of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (MNCCI), to discuss strategies for workforce development.
The discussion
highlighted plans to increase the minimum wage, revise workforce quotas, and
improve workplace safety.
The Minister
emphasized the need to use big data for more accurate labor market analysis and
to improve the reliability of sector statistics. MNCCI also suggested reforms
to roster-based work schedules and discussed including their representatives in
the tripartite social partnership committee.
Moving
forward, joint studies will be conducted to address workforce needs in private
sector projects.
