Information Exchanged on Ensuring Equal Access to Gender Equality

Ms. Shreyasi Jha from UNICEF's Regional Office for East Asia and the Pacific met with representatives of the Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Protection to discuss gender equality in the family, children, and youth sectors.

During her visit, Ms. Jha will conduct a gender equality assessment of UNICEF's projects and programs in Mongolia. She will also provide guidance on ensuring gender inclusiveness in the development of action plans.

The meeting covered several key areas, including the empowerment of human resources in family, child, and youth development and protection. Discussions focused on the possibility of conducting gender assessments for projects and programs related to child protection, and on the operations of the Comprehensive Center for Family Development, which is part of the Government’s 2024-2028 action program. The center offers a range of services to different population groups.

Additionally, the Ministry shared updates on the development of an electronic system (chatbox) aimed at protecting the reproductive health and rights of adolescents. Both parties exchanged views on the need for comprehensive, multifaceted services in these areas.
