112th Session of the International Labour Conference Begins in Geneva

The 112th session of the International Labour Conference commenced in Geneva on June 3, 2024. A tri-partite delegation from Mongolia, led by H.E. Ambassador and Permanent Representative D. Gerelmaa, is participating in the session. The delegation includes representatives from the Government, Mongolian Employers' Association, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Mongolian Trade Union, and other social partners.

The annual conference brings together worker, employer, and government delegates from the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s 187 Member States to address a wide range of issues. This year's agenda includes:

  • Protection of workers against biological hazards
  • Implementation of ILO’s fundamental conventions
  • Strategic objective of fundamental principles and rights at work
  • Decent work and the care economy

Additionally, the conference will elect members of the ILO Governing Body for the 2024-2027 term.

Mongolian Participation and Key Highlights

  • June 10, 2024: Permanent Representative D. Gerelmaa will present, at the plenary sitting of the Conference, providing an overview of employment, labor safety, and labor inspection in Mongolia. She will introduce legal reforms, achievements, challenges, and the Government’s position on the reports from the ILO Director-General and the Chairperson of the Governing Body.

The 112th session will run until June 14, 2024.
