Participating in the day under the banner "Let's Work and Live Well together in Mongolia," representatives gathered to commemorate "International Labor Day" on May 1, an occasion dedicated to amplifying the voices of workers worldwide. Anchored in the Vision for an Equitable Social Compact: Ensuring Worker Welfare and Rights advocated by the International Trade Union Organization, the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Union organized the event.

Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia, the Mongolian Worker’s and Employers’ Organization, and the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia.

In her address, Minister for Labour and Social Protection, H.E. Ms. Bulgantuya Khurelbaatar, underscored the significance of the newly established goals, content, responsibilities, and relationships outlined in the 2023-2025 State Agreement between the government and employer-worker’s representative organizations.

Principal to this agreement is the safeguarding of citizens with low wages or incomes, the enhancement of labor value, the elevation of minimum wages, and the implementation of reforms in wage policy based on work performance and outcomes. Minister Bulgantuya highlighted ongoing efforts in legal and policy reforms aimed at strengthening employment support, as well as initiatives focused on labor force research and market dynamics.
