"Successful 'Employment 2024' Event Celebrates Labour Day"

On May 1, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia, in collaboration with the General Agency for Labour and Welfare Services, organized the "Labour and Employment 2024" event at the Michel Expo Center, marking International Labour Day.

In his inaugural address, Deputy Minister for Labour and Social Protection Mr. S. Zulpkhar highlighted the positive trends observed in the nationwide labour market following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notably, from 2021 to 2023, key indicators such as the unemployment rate demonstrated improvement, with a decrease to 3.9 percent by the fourth quarter of 2023. Additionally, the number of unemployed individuals decreased by 15,800 compared to the previous year. Despite these advancements, Mr. S. Zulpkhar emphasized the importance of addressing specific employment needs for youth, women, and the elderly.

The event served as a platform for participants to explore initiatives aimed at igniting interest and motivation among students and citizens to engage in meaningful work. It also encouraged the promotion of innovative ideas aligned with contemporary labor trends. Activities included self-employed trade fairs, youth start-up showcases, digital project exhibitions, skills assessment services, and various informational and advisory sessions. Additionally, stations offering employment support advice, foreign employment guidance, and insights into open job opportunities were available to attendees.

The "Successful Employment 2024" event not only celebrated the contributions of workers but also facilitated dialogue and collaboration towards fostering a dynamic and inclusive labor landscape.
