Representatives from the Asian Development Bank Sofia Shakil, Director of Human and Social Development and Eisuke Tajima Principal Education Specialist, Social Sector were warmly welcomed by S. Zulpkhar, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection

At the outset of the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the Asian Development Bank for its longstanding partnership with Mongolia spanning over 30 years. Mr. S. Zulpkhar provided an overview of the ongoing directions and collaborative projects between the Ministry and the ADB.

Currently, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection is effectively implementing projects such as the Second Shock- Responsive Social Protection Project and the Project to Ensuring Inclusiveness and Service Delivery for Persons with Disabilities in partnership with the ADB. Discussions during the meeting revolved around further expanding and enhancing the organization of these projects for greater effectiveness. Under the " Ensuring Inclusiveness and Service Delivery for Persons with Disabilities," development centers for disabled individuals have been established in six provinces. The project supporting the Government of Mongolia in addressing a major social problem by ensuring inclusiveness and delivery of services for persons with disabilities (PWD) in Ulaanbaatar and at the aimag (province) level. The overall aim of the project is to ensure access of PWD to employment to increase their autonomy and contribution to the economy and the society in general. The project will support the government in complying with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Incheon Strategy for Persons with Disabilities.

 The parties also exchanged views on new projects and programs to be undertaken as part of their comprehensive partnership. The MLSP proposed presenting detailed priority areas and relevant issues within the framework of the "Vision-2050" development policy. In response, the ADB expressed its readiness to support necessary projects and measures identified through the evaluation process.
