Mr. S. Zulphar, Deputy Minister for Labour and Social Protection met with the mission headed by Ms. Maria Helena Andre, Director of the ILO Bureau for workers' activities (ACTRAV). During the meeting, the Deputy Minister appreciated the ILO's stable effort and cooperation within the priorities of the Government of Mongolia, to create jobs, provide decent work, promote employment, and ensure fundamental rights to work, and occupational safety and health towards the international standards. In addition, the parties have discussed the tripartite consultation and partnership through their interests and independence. The deputy minister emphasized the active participation of social partners such as the Mongolian Trade Union Federation and the Employers' Association and their thoughtful approach to problems. Mongolia has ratified the Tripartite Consultation (International Labor Standards) Convention, 1976 (No. 144). In accordance with its application, the Government of Mongolia takes great effort to social dialogue and consultation with the relevant social partners including the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions, the Mongolian Employers' Association and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for favorable policy solutions and recommendations for all. At the end of the meeting, parties expressed their willingness to further collaborate to ensure international labor standards and tripartite partnership as well.
