Mark Bauman, Vice President for Policy and Partnerships of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, is visiting Mongolia from the 24th-28th of May.

H.E. Mrs. A.Ariunzaya, The Minister of Labour and Social Protection received Mr. Mark Bauman, the President today and exchanged views on the bank's policies in Mongolia, projects, and programs being implemented, and future cooperation.

To strengthen the economic empowerment of women and support the increase in employment and jobs, the European Development Bank is implementing the "Central Asian Women Entrepreneurs Program" project in Mongolia.

This project is aimed at making activities of many sectors related to entrepreneurship more gender sensitive. For example, we are working together with relevant organizations to classify people's current accounts by gender, make financial sector statistics gender-sensitive, and create a census of enterprises by gender.

The meeting was attended by Stephen Ostrowski, Senior Advisor of the Strategy and Policy Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Hannes Takacs, the Resident Representative in Mongolia, and Beatrice Ravanetti, an Analyst of the Strategy and Policy Department.
