Organized a series of training on labour standards

The Decent Labour and Trade Project funded by the European Union, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, organized a training seminar to support the implementation of labour standards and reporting on the implementation of International Labour Organization conventions and recommendations ratified by Mongolia.

This training was attended by government officials responsible for the preparation of reports and information on the implementation of Conventions No. 182 on Intolerable Forms of Child Labour and No. 138 on the Minimum Age for Employment. Also, Alan Pels, a senior expert of the International Labour Organization, made a presentation in the field of pre-submitted questionnaires and clarifications, exchange of opinions, the inclusion of quality and appropriate information in the report, and preparation.

The training was opened by M.Tsogtbaatar, Head of the Child and Youth Development Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Ms Paula Westlund, a political department specialist at the European Union Delegation, and P.Bolormaa, the ILO program coordinator. In addition, the intolerable forms of child labour, the minimum age limit for employment, the basic principles of children's rights, issues to be considered for protection, and the Government's position were also presented.

The training was attended by members of the sub-working group responsible for the report on the implementation of ILO conventions and recommendations, representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the General Department of Family, Child and Youth Development, the Mongolian Trade Union Federation, and the National Statistics Committee.
