Capacity-building training for members of the Health, Education, and Social Protection Sub-Commissions for Children with Disabilities is underway
Provinces and districts sub-commissions on
health, education and social protection of children with disabilities,
sub-councils on human rights with disabilities, and other relevant public
service organizations are organizing a national regional training in April and
May of this year.
In today's training, the case of one province
and one district and the results of the training held in November last year
were presented. Also experience of how mothers with children with severe
disabilities support their children's learning was shared and highlighted the
importance of the role, participation, and responsibility of parents and
guardians in supporting the learning of children with disabilities. In
addition, discussions were held on the role and participation of the Enrollment
Support Council in the activities of the Branch Commission, and enrollment
in education for children with disabilities.
The training was opened by S.Tungalagtamir,
Director of the Population Development Policy Implementation Coordination
Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. She emphasized the
active participation of the members of the Sub-Commission on Health, Education, and Social Protection of Children with disabilities and the need for more
effective cooperation in the future.
The training was attended by members of the
Sub-Committees on Health, Education, and Social Protection of Children with disabilities
of 9 districts of the capital city, Tuv, Umnugovi, Dundgovi, and Darkhan-Uul
provinces, Secretary of the Sub-Council on Rights of Persons with disabilities,
Director of the Department of Education and Science, A total of 180 participants,
including the director of the Health Center and the General Hospital, doctors
from the General Hospital's specialized team, and representatives of NGOs
working to protect the rights of children with disabilities.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection,
in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Asian
Development Bank (ADB), is working with the Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA) to improve health, education, and social protection services for
children with special needs. -2” project.
