H.E. Mr. S.Zulpkhar, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection received Mr. Tanaka Shin Ichi, newly appointed Head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office in Mongolia.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister S.Zulpkhar congratulated Mr. Tanaka Shin Ichi on his appointment to a new position and expressed his gratitude for the activities and assistance, and projects and programs provided by the Japanese people and Government over the past 30 years in the field of labour and social protection, as well as economic and social development of our country.

He also gave a brief overview of the progress, expected results, and scope of JICA's projects in the sector and said that he would work closely with the organization to implement the policy and objectives of the Government of Mongolia and to strengthen the human resource capacity of the sector.

Accompanying Mr. Tanaka Shin Ichi were Ms. Tamura Eriko, former Head of Mission, and Ms. Fujita Eri, Social Affairs Officer.

Ms. Tamura Erico briefly shared her impressions of the scope and results of major projects, projects, and programs implemented in the field of labour and social protection since 2018. For example, in July 2019, Mongolia successfully hosted the 4th Asia-Pacific Forum on Community-Based Development for People with Disabilities for the first time. It was noted that JICA supported the event in many ways. She then mentioned that the 2019 Disability Involvement Project also contributed to capacity building by training trainers, publishing a commentary on social protection and insurance, and conducting a series of training sessions for facilitators, journalists, and volunteers. Currently, a project to support the employment of people with disabilities in the field of labour and social protection is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry.

The meeting was also attended by S.Dambii, Head of the Employment Policy Implementation Coordination Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, S.Tungalagtamir, Head of the Population Development Policy Implementation Coordination Department, and Z.Khuslen, Head of the Foreign Cooperation and Public Affairs Division.
