“Development and participation of people with disabilities” joint event was organized in Orkhon province
Orkhon province has
announced a four-month “Respect for Gender-Based Human Rights” campaign, one of
which is the “Development and Participation of People with Disabilities”
campaign. In particular, a plan was adopted and implemented to ensure the
rights of people with disabilities, increase their participation, improve their
living and working conditions, and increase public awareness and understanding
of people with disabilities.
In collaboration with the
Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, a joint event on “Development and
Participation of People with Disabilities” was organized on April 20 to close
the campaign.
The event was attended by
more than 450 people, including representatives of governmental and
non-governmental organizations of Orkhon province and more than 80
representatives of people with disabilities. S.Tungalagtamir, Head of the
Population Development Policy Implementation Coordination Department, made a
presentation on “State policies and activities to ensure the rights of people
with disabilities” and B.Boloroo, Specialist in charge of Legislation and
Social Participation of People with Disabilities Training on Disability and
Equality was organized.
The event also featured a
report on “Implementation of activities to support people with disabilities in
Orkhon province”, a documentary program “Open the Curtain”, “Equal
Opportunities” to increase equal access to education, and a “Personal
Assistance Service” in cooperation with the Center for Independent Living.
