H.E. Ms A.Ariunzaya, Minister of Labour and Social Protection received newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of Mongolia and informed them
H.E. Ms. A.Ariunzaya, Minister of Labour and
Social Protection launched a meeting with H.E. Ms. E.Sarantogos, Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. P.Sergelen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kuwait, H.E. Ms. D.Gerelmaa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Switzerland, and
provided information on labour and social protection policies, goals,
activities, and legal reforms.
In recent years, the number of Mongolians
living, studying, and working abroad has been increasing. In order to ensure the
social protection of Mongolians living and working abroad, the government has
concluded and is implementing an agreement on cooperation in the field of
social protection with a country where many Mongolians live.
For example, the Government of Mongolia signed
agreements with the Russian Federation in 1981, with the Republic of Korea in
2006, with the Republic of Hungary in 2011, with the Republic of Poland and the
Republic of Turkey in 2018, and with the Czech Republic in 2020 in the field of
social protection. As a result, there is an opportunity to create a right to
receive a pension based on the contribution period, to reciprocate the
contribution period, to prevent double participation in the social protection
system, and to agree and co-implement certain benefits for citizens.
In the future, we are working to conclude a new
social protection agreement with the Russian Federation and a new pension
agreement with the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, the possibility of
concluding social protection agreements with the Kingdom of Sweden, Canada, and
the United States has been submitted to the Mongolian embassies in these
countries, and information on the country's social insurance system has been
provided.
