The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, UNFPA and the National Committee on Gender are working together in Uvurkhangai and Bayankhongor provinces
These organizations above together with the representatives of the “Men, Family and Child Development Association” NGO got acquainted with the activities of the One-Stop Service Center, and the Family, Child and Youth Development Departments of Uvurkhangai and Bayankhongor provinces which are responsible for ensuring the safety and services of victims of domestic violence. They also exchanged views on issues and challenges in providing services and provided professional and methodological support.
In addition, the social workers of the Joint
team and local government officials were briefed on the policies and activities
of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in the field of family and
child development and protection and exchanged views on addressing local
issues.
On March 14, 2022, under the auspices of the
President of Mongolia, a national conference on men's participation and
leadership in social development was organized. In order to implement the
recommendations of the forum, the Ministry of Labour and
Social Protection is working to provide social and psychological counseling for
men, and to develop a methodology and manual for social work services.
In this context, we got acquainted with the
activities of the “Happy Life” center that provide psychological and social
rehabilitation assistance to the citizens of Bayankhongor province, and the
One-Stop Service Centers that provide services to victims and survivors of
violence.
In the future, it is necessary to disseminate the center's experience to other provinces, pay attention to the mental health
of citizens, train psychologists, raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol,
and increase the number of places where young people can spend their leisure
time.
