Aging Survey on voluntary basis of the Asia-Pacific region

The Madrid International Aging Action Plan was adopted at the Second World Aging Conference in 2002 and is a guide to global population and aging. The document consists of three main priorities: “Aging and Development”, “Improving the Health and Welfare of the Elderly”, and “Creating an Elderly Friendly Environment”. The 61st session of the UN General Assembly Commission on Social Development is taking place in connection with the implementation of this plan in 2023, the fourth global monitoring and evaluation. An interdisciplinary working group was established and had a meeting on September 20, 2021, to provide professional and methodological guidance and support for the voluntary national survey on aging in the Madrid International Action Plan on Aging. Representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, relevant organizations, the National Statistics Office, and non-governmental organizations are participating in the working group.
