The first meeting of the Project Steering Committee of the Asian Development Bank-funded “Social Protection Response Project 2”
uploaded pictureuploaded pictureuploaded pictureThe aim of the project is to provide social welfare services to target groups, including children and women, during a pandemic. For example, 1,520 members of the target group of working age will be included in the target group in accordance with the Ministry's policy from welfare to employment. Within this framework, the needs and opportunities of these people will be analyzed, provision with training and capacity building, tools and activities to improve their life independence, and support them out of poverty.

Ts. Bolormaa, Project Coordinator, introduced that the project will be piloted in Songinokhairkhan, Bayanzurkh and Chingeltei districts of the capital city and will be implemented for 2 years with the participation of non-governmental organizations based on the “Graduation Methodology” aimed at lifting the target group out of poverty. The project will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and general agency of Labour and Social Welfare services, City and district Governor's Offices, and the Project Implementation Unit.

In addition, the project will continue to update the basic household database and digitalization process in social welfare services.

The Project Steering Committee, chaired by G. Unurbayar, State Secretary of the Ministry for Labour and Social Protection, discussed and approved the 2021 Action Plan based on the Master Plan of the project.
