Minister T. Aubakir Participates in the Global Forum on Poverty Reduction and Development
Minister
of Family, Labour and Social Protection T. Aubakir participated in the Global
Forum on Poverty Reduction and Development, held in Beijing, the People's Republic
of China, from May 26 to 28, 2026.
The
forum was organized to advance the implementation of the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030. It brought together more than
250 participants, including deputy prime ministers, ministers, and vice
ministers from over 40 countries, representatives of approximately 30
international organizations and diplomatic missions, as well as officials from
public and private sector institutions, and academic researchers.
Held
under the theme “Unite Global Efforts to Reduce Poverty,” the forum featured
extensive discussions on poverty alleviation, sustainable development,
agricultural and rural revitalization, climate change adaptation, and improving
people's livelihoods.
The
forum, which included a message from the United Nations Secretary-General and
participation from high-level international representatives, served as a
prestigious platform for countries to exchange experiences and strengthen
cooperation in the fields of poverty reduction and sustainable development.
During
the plenary session, Minister T. Aubakir delivered a speech outlining the
policies and measures being implemented by the Government of Mongolia to reduce
poverty, support livelihoods, and strengthen the social protection system. He
also shared Mongolia’s future objectives and key challenges, while exchanging
views and experiences with fellow participants.
In
addition, Minister T. Aubakir participated, as a representative of a founding
member country, in the inaugural meeting of the Committee for the International
Implementation of the Global Initiative on Poverty Reduction and Development.
During the meeting, participants discussed regional cooperation, policy
solutions, joint initiatives, and project implementation aimed at preventing poverty,
addressing vulnerabilities, and responding to emerging challenges.
On
the second day of the forum, delegates conducted field visits to observe the
outcomes and best practices of poverty reduction and local development programs
implemented by the Government of China. The delegation visited Penggu and
Shangyang districts to learn about community-based approaches to poverty
alleviation and rural development.
