Intersectoral Gender Sub-Working Group to Be Reconstituted
The
Gender Sector Council of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection,
chaired by State Secretary A. Davaajargal, convened on May 29,
2026. The Council comprises representatives from the Ministry’s affiliated
agencies and institutions, as well as civil society organizations (CSOs).
During
the meeting, participants discussed and adopted several key decisions,
including:
-Reviewing
the 2025 assessment of the sector’s implementation of responsibilities
stipulated under the Law on Ensuring Gender Equality and agreeing to approve
the draft 2026 action plan, which incorporates recommendations from civil
society organizations.
-Hearing
a report on activities carried out across the sector under the “Let Us
Respect Each Other” campaign, launched by the National Committee on
Gender Equality in March 2026.
-Deciding
to reconstitute an intersectoral gender sub-working group involving other
ministries in order to promote gender-balanced participation and strengthen
cross-sectoral cooperation.
At
the conclusion of the meeting, A. Davaajargal, Chair of the Gender Sector
Council and State Secretary of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social
Protection, instructed all affiliated agencies and institutions with more than
100 employees to establish Gender Sub-Councils. The measure is intended to
strengthen the implementation of the Law on Ensuring Gender Equality and
improve the execution of sectoral action plans.
