Analysis of Digital Employment to Be Conducted
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection, in
collaboration with the International Labour Organization’s “Formalizing the
Informal Economy Project” and NRCC LLC, held a consultation meeting on March 30,
2026, to discuss the methodology, scope, and stakeholder engagement for a
national-level analysis of digital employment.
The study aims to inform policy development in
platform-based and related digital employment sectors, establish priority
policy directions, and validate research findings. To achieve this, several
consultations involving stakeholders will be conducted throughout the research
process.
At this session, over 50 participants attended in person,
including representatives from the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (MNCCI), Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU), Mongolian
Employers’ Federation (MAOENH), ILO, the Ministry of Digital Development and
Communications, the National Statistics Office, and other affiliated organizations.
ILO experts, including Drew Gardiner (Employment Policy Specialist, Geneva
Office) and Christian Weigel (Labour Economist, Bangkok Office), joined
virtually to provide guidance and discuss recommendations.
The final results of the digital employment analysis are
scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2026.
