Collaboration with International Partners to Implement the National Initiative on Household Employment and Poverty Reduction
The Minister of
Family, Labour and Social Protection T.Aubakir met with representatives from JICA Mongolia, including Director Miyagi Kensuke, to review the
outcomes of past collaboration and discuss future objectives.
The discussion highlighted
the successful joint implementation of a program supporting employment among
target households. Of 1,250 participating households, over 60% gained stable
jobs and improved their livelihoods. Building on this experience, both sides
expressed their commitment to collaborate in implementing Mongolia’s “National Initiative on Household Employment and
Poverty Reduction.”
The Ministry
emphasized that 2026 has been designated as the Year of Employment Promotion, focusing on enhancing
labour participation across all working-age groups. With an aging population
and an increasing number of older adults requiring care, comprehensive support
services for seniors were also highlighted as a priority.
Both parties
reaffirmed their commitment to continue active bilateral cooperation under the
framework of Mongolia-Japan partnership agreements.
