Stakeholders Exchange Views on Advancing Gender Equality
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection, in
collaboration with the National Committee on Gender Equality, organized a
consultative meeting to discuss the promotion of gender equality.
The meeting was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry
L. Munkhzul, Director of the Department of Public Administration D. Munguntuul,
Director of the Family Policy Department Ts. Munkhzul, Director of the Social
Insurance and Savings Fund Policy Department V. Rentsenkhand, along with
relevant senior officials. Representing the National Committee on Gender
Equality were Secretary and Head of the Secretariat A. Adilbish, members of the
National Gender Expert Group, and other relevant representatives.
During the meeting, the Secretariat of the National
Committee on Gender Equality presented the 2025 evaluation of the Ministry’s
implementation of its responsibilities under the Law on Promotion of Gender
Equality.
Participants exchanged views on ensuring effective
implementation of the law and on integrating gender equality principles into
sectoral development policies, legal frameworks, legislation, and programs. Key
areas of discussion included improving policy coherence and identifying
priority issues requiring further attention.
In particular, discussions focused on reducing the life
expectancy gap between men and women—especially by addressing occupational
safety and health risks that contribute to premature mortality among men.
Participants also explored ways to reduce disparities faced by rural women and
young herders in employment, health, and education, and to promote equal
opportunities more broadly.
