Child Protection Response Services and Temporary Shelter Integrated into the “108 Child Helpline Service Centre”
Government meeting was decided to integrate the
“Child Protection Response Services and Temporary Shelter” into the “108 Child
Helpline Service Centre” under the General Authority for Child and Family
Development and Protection in December 17, 2025. The unified service will
operate as the “108 Child Emergency Assistance and Protection Centre.”
The integration aims to streamline government
service delivery, improve efficiency, address human resource shortages, and
expand outreach to the public.
The 108 Child Emergency Assistance and
Protection Centre will operate under the General Authority for Child
and Family Development and Protection. The Minister of Family, Labour and
Social Protection will approve the updated regulations, organizational
structure, and staffing levels.
As a result, the hotline will operate at full
capacity, enabling the provision of rapid child protection assistance and
services, ensuring the safety of children in high-risk situations, improving
identification and response, offering counselling and information, and
strengthening the accessibility and quality of efforts to protect children’s
rights and best interests.
