International Cooperation in Child Development and Protection to Be Expanded
To mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment and
development of children’s organizations and movements in Mongolia, the 35th
anniversary of Mongolia’s accession to the UN Convention on the Rights of the
Child, and the 30th anniversary of World Vision International’s operations in
Mongolia, the “Child–Love–Future” honorary event was held in Ulaanbaatar.
The event was attended by Prime Minister of Mongolia and
Chair of the National Council for Children G. Zandanshatar; Member of
Parliament, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Protection, and Deputy Chair
of the National Council for Children T. Aubakir; ambassadors extraordinary and
plenipotentiary accredited to Mongolia; and representatives of international
organizations.
In his address, Prime Minister G. Zandanshatar emphasized
that under Mongolia’s long-term development policy Vision 2050, the
Government’s largest mega project is human development.
Ambassadors and representatives of international
organizations expressed their commitment to contributing to child-cantered
initiatives and implementing projects and programs that support children’s
rights, development, participation, positive upbringing, and holistic growth.
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection and the
General Authority for Child and Family Development and Protection reaffirmed
their readiness to support the constructive proposals put forward and to work
in close partnership on initiatives for children.
The organizers extended best wishes and success to all
distinguished guests and called for sincere and continued cooperation for the
benefit of Mongolia’s 1.3 million children.
