Promoting Inclusive Participation of Persons with Disabilities for a Better Society
Since 1981, the United Nations has designated December 3 as
the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually around
the world.
In Mongolia, 89.6% of people with disabilities are of
working age, yet only 18.1% are employed — a figure that remains far too low.
In response, the Ministry of Family Labour and Social Protection has declared
2025 as the Year for Promoting Employment of Persons with Disabilities across
the sector.
To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities,
the “UB ABILITY EXPO-2025” held in 3rd December. The expo highlights
the work and services of entrepreneurs with disabilities, connects them with
employers and the public, and creates new opportunities for cooperation. In
addition, several government services are being delivered on-site to provide
faster support and resolve labour and social protection-related requests
directly.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an
opportunity to review progress, discuss future actions, and amplify the voices
of persons with disabilities advocating for their rights.
For a progressive society, full and equal participation for
persons with disabilities is essential. An inclusive society that supports
people with disabilities is beneficial to everyone. To call on all individuals,
organizations, and businesses to support and collaborate with persons with
disabilities.
