Prime Minister Mr G. Zandanshatar Comprehensive Reform needed in Social Welfare and child protection Policies
Prime Minister of
Mongolia Mr G. Zandanshatar met with officials from the Ministry of Family,
Labour and Social Protection on December 2, 2025.
Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry, four implementing
agencies and ten budget-funded organizations provide public services to
citizens through a total of 4,893 staff members.
The family, labour and social protection sector is a unique
branch that touches every part of society and serves the entire population.
Prime Minister Mr G. Zandanshatar emphasized that the staff of this sector
represent the face of the government. He encouraged them to carry out their
duties with empathy, understanding the hardships of others as their own.
The Prime Minister highlighted the urgent need to increase
employment opportunities for people with disabilities and to comprehensively
reform social welfare and child protection policies. He noted that it
is crucial to move past theoretical discussions and focus on the prompt
implementation of concrete actions that align with real-life needs.
As part of the sector’s policy reform, draft legislation on
the Family Development Act, the Social Welfare Package Act, the Employment
Promotion Act, and the revised Labour Safety and Hygiene Act is being prepared
for discussion at Cabinet meetings and submission to the Parliament.
