Standard for Temporary Shelters Ensuring the Safety of Victims of Human Trafficking Approved

The Child Development and Protection Standards Technical Committee (TC-46) of the Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology held its fourth-quarter meeting of 2025 at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection on 29th November, 2025.

During the meeting, members reviewed three standards stemming from the revised Law on Child Protection, which came into effect on September 1, 2024; one standard under the Law on Combating Trafficking in Persons; and one standard under the Law on Witness and Victim Protection. As a result, the standard for temporary shelters that ensure the safety of victims of human trafficking was formally approved.

Meanwhile, the committee decided to reconvene in the first quarter of 2026 to further deliberate on the following draft standards:

  • General requirements for services providing temporary placement and protective measures for minor witnesses and victims
  • General requirements for the environment and services of dormitories for children at monastery complexes
  • General requirements for child protection services in disaster preparedness and response activities
  • General child protection requirements during public demonstrations and assemblies.
