Standard for Temporary Shelters Ensuring the Safety of Victims of Human Trafficking Approved
The Child Development and Protection Standards Technical
Committee (TC-46) of the Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology
held its fourth-quarter meeting of 2025 at the Ministry of Family, Labour and
Social Protection on 29th November, 2025.
During the meeting, members reviewed three standards
stemming from the revised Law on Child Protection, which came into effect on
September 1, 2024; one standard under the Law on Combating Trafficking in
Persons; and one standard under the Law on Witness and Victim Protection. As a
result, the standard for temporary shelters that ensure the safety of victims
of human trafficking was formally approved.
Meanwhile, the committee decided to reconvene in the first
quarter of 2026 to further deliberate on the following draft standards:
- General
requirements for services providing temporary placement and protective
measures for minor witnesses and victims
- General
requirements for the environment and services of dormitories for children
at monastery complexes
- General
requirements for child protection services in disaster preparedness and
response activities
- General
child protection requirements during public demonstrations and assemblies.
