Meeting of Social Partners Held on the ILO Declaration on Multinational Enterprises
A training and
consultation meeting for social partners is underway under the theme “The
National Human Rights Program II and the ILO Declaration on Multinational
Enterprises.”
The MNE Declaration,
adopted in March 2023, is a tripartite declaration of principles concerning
multinational enterprises and social policy. It aims to enhance the positive
social and labour impacts of enterprises and promote decent work for all.
The two-day training
aims to integrate the implementation of the MNE Declaration into the laws, programs,
and actions of the Parliament and Government of Mongolia related to human
rights and labour rights.
The training is
being led by Yulia Gershinkova, Specialist on Business and Multinational
Enterprises from the ILO Geneva Office, and Kelvin Sergeant, Specialist on Job
Creation and Enterprise Development from the ILO Regional Office for Asia and
the Pacific. Discussions will focus on aligning priority directions for
employment promotion with the principles of the ILO MNE Declaration and
exploring opportunities to strengthen sustainable and responsible business
practices.
