Capacity Building for Members of the CEDAW Reporting Working Group
Mongolia submitted
its 10th
periodic report on the implementation of the UN Convention on
the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) to the
CEDAW Committee under the simplified reporting procedure in 2021. The Committee
reviewed the report and issued its recommendations in June 2022.
The Ministry of Family, Labour
and Social Protection approved an inter-sectoral action plan to
implement these recommendations for 2024–2026. In October 2025, the Ministry
renewed and reappointed the inter-sectoral working group responsible for
overseeing implementation, monitoring progress, and preparing the national
report.
The working group, consisting of 45 representatives from 30
organizations, reflects the broad scope and importance of
ensuring effective implementation of the Convention.
To support the preparation of Mongolia’s 11th periodic report,
scheduled for submission in 2026, a capacity-building training was held on
November 13th 2025 for members of the working group.
The training was led by gender expert T. Undarya, who
provided guidance on key considerations for drafting the 11th report, including
evaluation criteria, analytical tools, data sources, and mechanisms for
inter-agency cooperation.
