International Experts Contribute to the Revision of the Employment Promotion Law
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection is
undertaking the revision of the Employment Promotion Law with the aim of
strengthening the national employment system. In this context, consultations to
study the experience of European Union member states were held on August 25 and
again on September 2–3, 2025.
Mongolia is receiving advisory support from the SOCIEUX+ EU Expertise on Social Protection,
Labour and Employment Project in the process of revising the law and
improving the employment framework. Consultants from the Republic of Lithuania
and the Republic of Latvia visited Ulaanbaatar to conduct meetings.
The meetings on September 2-3 were held in
both online and in person, with the participation of representatives from labor
and social welfare departments of all 21 provinces and 9 districts, as well as
specialists from NGOs, insurance, and social welfare sectors. The participants
exchanged information and views on the reform process.
During the discussions, the international experts presented
the legal frameworks and implementation practices of EU member states in the
field of employment promotion. They are scheduled to return to Mongolia in
October to provide further recommendations on potential reforms and legal
amendments to the current Employment Promotion Law.
