MNT 131 billion Allocated to Citizens’ Individual Savings Accounts in the First Half of 2025
Under the Law on the National Wealth
Fund, 34 percent of dividends from state-owned and state-participated
enterprises in the mining and mineral processing sectors are transferred to the
Savings Fund. An individual savings account is created for every citizen, with
funds intended for use in health, education, and housing.
As part of the implementation of
this law, in 2024, dividends totaling MNT 495.6 billion were contributed to the
Savings Fund by Erdenes Tavantolgoi
JSC, Erdenet Mining Corporation SOE, Darkhan Metallurgical Plant LLC, Mongolrostsvetmet
SOE, and Erdenes Oyu Tolgoi LLC.
This amount was distributed to the individual savings accounts of 3,565,966
Mongolian citizens, with each account credited with MNT 138,900. Citizens can
view their account information via the E-Mongolia
e-service platform.
For 2025, a total of MNT 507.1
billion in dividends is mandated to be deposited into the Savings Fund. By the
first half of 2025, the fund had accumulated MNT 103.3 billion in dividends,
MNT 27.7 billion in interest income from 2024 fund assets, and MNT 342.6
million transferred at the request of 4,026 citizens who opted to allocate
dividends from Erdenes Tavantolgoi JSC’s
2024 second and third rounds of ordinary shares to their savings accounts.
At its meeting on August 27, 2025,
the Government resolved to distribute and register the MNT 103.3 billion in
dividends for the first half of 2025, along with the MNT 27.7 billion in 2024
interest income, into the individual savings accounts of all citizens.
By the end of 2024, each citizen’s savings
account had been credited with MNT 138,900 in dividends. Adding the 2025 first
half-year dividend income of MNT 28,668 and the 2024 interest income of MNT
7,778 brings an additional MNT 36,446 per citizen, raising the total balance in
each account to MNT 175,400 as of the first half of 2025. For citizens who
transferred dividends from Erdenes
Tavantolgoi JSC’s 2024 second and third rounds of shares, their final
balance will further increase accordingly.
Citizens can access information on
their individual savings accounts through the E-Mongolia e-service
