Centers Established to Support the Social Inclusion of Children with Disabilities
The public-serving
NGO “Autism Journey”
is currently providing educational, health, and developmental services to more
than 40 children. Since its establishment in 2022, the organization has been
working to comprehensively support children with autism spectrum disorders and
other disabilities in achieving full and equal participation in social life.
Ms. L. Munkhzul, State
Secretary of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection, became
acquainted with the activities of the center. Starting this year, children who
are unable to attend schools or kindergartens due to disabilities have been
able to access the services of support centers funded by the state budget.
At present, six
centers in Ulaanbaatar and one in the provinces are operating with government
funding. A total of MNT 6.8 billion has been allocated from the state budget
for support center services. The General Authority for Persons with
Disabilities is responsible for organizing the selection of service providers.
