Social Insurance Fund Increases by 13.3 MNT billion form Bond Investment Return
In accordance with the Law on the 2024 Budget of the Social Insurance Fund and Government Resolution No.14 of 2024 on “Approving the Investment amount for Government and Bank of Mongolia securities,” a total of 300.0 MNT billion from the Social Insurance Fund’s available balance was invested in long-tern government bonds last year. These bonds carried an annual interest payment scheduled every six months.
As per the investment agreement, the first interest payment of MNT 13.3 billion was received into the Social Insurance Fund on May 15. This marks the first time that the Fund has increased its assets through interest income from bond investments.
Disciplined, efficient, low-risk, and secure investment management, the Social Insurance Fund has for the first time, increased its assets through interest income from bonds.
