The National Council for Children convenes with its new membership
The National Council for Children, chaired by Prime Minister
Mr. L. Oyun-Erdene, convened with its newly renewed composition. This year
marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment and development of
child focused organizations and movements in Mongolia. On this occasion, Prime
Minister Mr. L. Oyun-Erdene extended his heartfelt gratitude and
congratulations to the generations of professional who have contributed to the
fields of child welfare, family, and education in Mongolia.
During the meeting, updates were provided on policies and
legal reforms aimed at supporting child and family development as well as the
revised regulations of the Children’s fund. The Law on Child protection was
amended in 2024, significantly improving the child protection system, including
its governance, regulatory framework, service types, financing, and oversight
mechanisms. Looking ahead, the Government plans to strengthen the national
framework for child development. As part of this effort, new legislative
proposal supporting families are currently being prepared. Under Government
Resolution No.139 of 2024, the procedures of the Children’s fund were revised
to clarify and enhance the transparency of fund allocations.
