Minister L. Enkh-Amgalan Participates as Keynote Speaker at the Asia-Pacific Investment Cooperation Summit
The
"Global Pension, Social Security,
and Sovereign Wealth Funds" summit, focusing on strengthening
global cooperation for the well-being of humanity, was held in Hong Kong on 13th-14th December. The event brought
together key leaders and stakeholders to discuss investment cooperation across
Asia and the Pacific region.
Minister for Family, Labour and Social Protection,
L. Enkh-Amgalan,
participated as the keynote speaker at the summit. He presented Mongolia's
current situation regarding social protection, pensions, and sovereign wealth
funds, outlining the significant reforms and policy changes that the government
plans to implement in these areas. He also highlighted opportunities for
regional cooperation to further strengthen these sectors.
The
Asia-Pacific Investors Cooperation
(APIC), which organized the summit, is a strategic body established to
guide the successful management of government special funds, private pension
funds, and sovereign wealth funds. APIC is the only organization of its kind in
the Asia-Pacific region.
During
the summit, participants discussed improving cooperation between global asset
managers to align investment strategies with goals such as combating climate
change, reducing poverty, and enhancing the effectiveness of pension systems,
savings funds, social protection, and sovereign wealth funds.
This
summit marked a significant moment as it was the first such gathering of global
leaders in the field of investment management and pension/social security after
the pandemic, setting a foundation for future cooperation in these vital
sectors.
